Shout Outdoor was formed in 1998, to pioneer the concept of lease-based advertising on the sides of vehicles, trailers and containers in South Africa. The appeal of fleet advertising is that it offers a means of reaching potential customers on the roads where they live and travel, nationwide, rather than relying on a chance sighting of a static billboard.

Because it is an industry that understands the value of fleet branding as an advertising medium, the Liquor and Beverage sector was first to embrace the concept. Players in this industry have a large variety of brands that need constant awareness and exposure in the marketplace, and innovative and impactful ways of reaching as wide an audience as possible are constantly being sought. After successfully branding thirty vehicles for the Gilbeys group, Shout Outdoor also acquired Stellenbosch Farmers Winery (SFW) and the Distillers Group as customers. Since those early days the concept of lease-based advertising has boomed, and now covers an incredibly diverse range of clients and brands, such as the Argus group, BP Express stores and their products, and the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town, in addition to the Liquor and Beverage customers.

Only the most reputable transport companies are used, where Shout Outdoor can be assured that vehicles are always in pristine condition. The routes that the fleets operate on are either national (Cape Town – Johannesburg – Durban; Johannesburg – Durban; Cape Town – Port Elizabeth etc), or inner city (Cape Town; Johannesburg; Durban; Bloemfontein; Port Elizabeth etc). Customers are able to select which routes are best suited to the specific marketing requirements of their brands.
